I have a Swift project with some C code in it. The C code creates a byte array with about 600K elements. Compiling under Xcode, the compilation takes a really long time. When I try to run the code, it fails immediately upon startup. When I cut this large array out of the build, everything else works fine. Does anyone know what's going on here, and what I might do about it?

I have a Catalyst app that I'm adding a sidebar to via UISplitViewController. I have a toolbar on the window with buttons that I want to be enabled or disabled based on the state of the view controller in the split view's secondary column. But it seems to want to check the primary view controller instead. In the Catalyst tutorial Adding a Toolbar, this exact approach is demonstrated. The RecipeDetailViewController has methods for toggleFavorite and editRecipe, and the toolbar items are set up to reference those selectors in the ToolbarDelegate class. In the screenshots in the tutorial, the buttons are shown as enabled based on RecipeDetailViewController.canPerformAction. But when I download and run the complete project on my computer (macOS 14.4.1), the toolbar items are disabled. And if I add the methods to the RecipeListViewController (which is in the primary column of the UISplitViewController, the toolbar items get enabled. Is there a way to make the system ask the correct split view column for canPerformAction? Or is this a bug?

Everything works as expected until I add the paging behavior to the scrollView with a non-zero content margin. The paging behavior ends up not being centered on the cards. Here is a simple example: import SwiftUI struct CarouselView: View { var body: some View { ScrollView(.horizontal, showsIndicators: false) { HStack(spacing: 0) { ForEach(0 ..< 5, id: \.self) { _ in RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 25) .fill(.ultraThinMaterial) .containerRelativeFrame(.horizontal) .scrollTransition(axis: .horizontal, transition: { content, phase in content .scaleEffect(x: phase.isIdentity ? 1 : 0.8, y: phase.isIdentity ? 1 : 0.8) }) } } .scrollTargetLayout() } .scrollTargetBehavior(.paging) .contentMargins(60) // NOTE: I want to see the sides of the next and previous card .background(Gradient(colors: [.purple, .red])) } } Thanks!

Hi, we have an app that has been in development since Catalina and ever since Sonoma came out we noticed that when executing our pkg installer the application is installed correctly but the postinstall script is not executed. The weird thing is that if I run the pkg for the first time the postinstall does not execute BUT if I run it again then it DOES!! Looking through the logs I found these ones that confirm the execution of the script is being blocked. We haven't changed anything in the way we build the installer so I'm not quite sure how to fix this. 2024-04-25 16:29:51.570662-0300 0x1c62 Error 0x0 308 0 syspolicyd: [com.apple.syspolicy.exec:default] Unable (errno: 2) to read file at <private> for pid: 784 process path: <private> library path: (null) 2024-04-25 16:29:51.570662-0300 0x1c62 Error 0x0 308 0 syspolicyd: [com.apple.syspolicy.exec:default] Terminating process due to Malware rejection: 784, <private> 2024-04-25 16:29:51.570679-0300 0x1d13 Default 0x0 0 0 kernel: (AppleSystemPolicy) ASP: Sleep interrupted, signal 0x100 2024-04-25 16:29:51.570682-0300 0x1d13 Default 0x0 0 0 kernel: (AppleSystemPolicy) ASP: Security policy would not allow process: 784, /private/tmp/PKInstallSandbox.m5Av3O/Scripts/com.mycompany.myapp.pkg.BSOjtt/postinstall The app as well as the installer are both signed, notarized and stapled. Here you can see the script which just simply executes the app. #!/bin/bash echo "Running postinstall" /Applications/myapp.app/Contents/MacOS/myapp --load-system-extension & exit 0 Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm having an issue while trying to enrol myself in apple developer program. When I submit my information, I can only see an error saying "Your enrollment in the Apple Developer Program could not be completed at this time." And this is an infinite loop. How I can get myself enrolled in the program now? Is my region (Pakistan) is blocked for enrollment or I'm doing something wrong?

Is the timeout for session-level authentication challenge handling documented somewhere? For example, if I get the urlSession(_:didReceive:) callback for server trust authentication, how long do I have to invoke the completion handler (or return from the callback if using Swift Concurrency)? Or is this completely dependent on the server's settings?

This one is sorta behaving similar to the FaceTime / AirDrop issue, but it does depend on order, which makes me wonder if it's a programming choice. Specifically, using FortiNet's VPN client, using IPSec, if I have a TPP installed and then try to connect it, it fails. If, however, I connect and then start the TPP, it succeeds, which at least makes it better than FaceTime and AirDrop. So my question here is... hm, not as well-articulated as I would like. I'm curious if a VPN can check to see if other VPNs are installed and configured, and if so say "nope." Hm, saying that more clearly: I think it's possible for a network extension to check the interface that a packet/flow is going to, and cause a failure of some sort if it's a VPN, correct? Does anyone do that? Or am I seeing lions in the waterhole weeds? I'm also curious if Apple's networking code has issues with multiple VPNs. (Although, I will note, our TPP works just fine with Tailscale, so it's not an inherent conflict. Also Cisco AnyConnect. So maybe it's just IPSec?) ETA: to make it clear, my test case involves using a stupid TPP, where handleNewUDPFlow and handleNewFlow both immediately return false, meaning that the system should behave as if it's not there, and yet... doesn't. I appreciate any comments/assistance/guffaws.

As title says...I'm fairly adept at navigating iphone features so it doesnt seem to be something simple. Clock has completely disappeared from my phone. Removed from control center, not found in apps, even searching doesn't pull up the app. I'm at a loss. My alarms and timers run through the native clock app, so I'd really like it fixed.

Hi everyone, Has this every happened to you? If so, how did you resolve it? Submitting my app for review, I got the following rejection: Guideline 2.4.5(ii) - Performance The package currently available in App Store Connect cannot be installed and may be corrupted. I deployed Xcode to iPhone, emulator and iPhone, and iCloud data is synchronized. But I am using testlight for distribution, so I cannot synchronize. I did not respond in iCloud Kit Database developer mode, and now I have changed to production mode, but there is no response, so I cannot synchronize. That's why.

Hi, I'm developing an app using SwiftUI for both iOS and Mac OS and use onOpenURL to handle external links. However, this doesn't seem to work after switching to a single window app on Mac OS. This code works: WindowGroup { Text("Hi").onOpenURL { url in print("Open URL", url) } } But this doesn't: Window("My App", id: "my_app") { Text("Hi").onOpenURL { url in print("Open URL", url) } } Anyone knows a workaround? Thanks!

Hi, I have been working on some kind of network filtering app for iOS using Content Filter Provider. And I have stored rules for each domain. As of right now, I use UserDefaults with my app's bundle suite to store and observe rules. I have also read this documentation page for UserDefaults link. Is it okay to use UserDefaults in my case, if I have rules added/modified dynamically as the flow is intercepted, or should I pick some other approach like Core Data, SwiftData, etc.? Thank you!

I upload one of my app on app store connect then I get Rejection there it gave me this message that guideline 4.8 design login services. how to solve this issue on app store Can you please guide me about it. This the message i receive from app store: The app uses a third-party login service, but does not appear to offer an equivalent login option with the following features: The login option limits data collection to the user’s name and email address. The login option allows users to keep their email address private as part of setting up their account. The login option does not collect interactions with the app for advertising purposes without consent. Next Steps Revise the app to offer an equivalent login option that meets all of the above requirements. If the app already includes a login option that meets the above requirements, reply to App Review in App Store Connect, identify which login option meets the requirements, and explain why it meets the requirements. Additionally, it would be appropriate to update the screenshots in the app's metadata to accurately reflect the revised app once another login service has been implemented.

I'm working on a command line tool that uses the Accessibility APIs on macOS. Running inside Xcode works fine, but directly from the command line I still get false from AXIsProcessTrustedWithOptions, even though the switch in System Settings is turned on. The binary is signed with a Developer ID certificate. What else should I look at to debug?

Are there certain scenarios where the in-app safari browser may block a redirect from occurring? I have two separate mobile applications named A and B. Application A redirects to application B after clicking on a specific menu option. Currently, i've been experiencing an issue on application B where the login page begins to hang after attempting to login with SSO. There are no network calls being reported referencing a redirect request, however, i can remove a specific query parameter and a redirection will occur, but ends up returning a 400 as that parameter is needed. I'd like to note, using direct login works for application B using the same query parameters and does not hang. SSO also works normally on Application A

I'm currently trying to add an OIDC connection to an iOS application. I'm using AppAuth, which will use ASWebAuthenticationSession (because we're targeting recent versions of iOS). We have a login web page that will write a cookie. We'd like this cookie to be shared between the application (using ASWebAuthenticationSession) and the system browser (Safari) so that the user can be recognized and avoid having to log in again. The web page writes a permanent cookie (with an expiry date) and the iOS application uses ASWebAuthenticationSession. And I did not set prefersEphemeralSession to true. So we should be OK with the documentation (SFSafariViewController no longer shares cookies, and session cookies are not shared between ASWebAuthenticationSession and Safari). It should work, if I understand the documentation correctly. Did I miss a point? Or is it a known problem? I also tried to create a simple web page that read and write a cookie to do dome tests. function writeCookie() { var value = "something"; var maxAge = "max-age=" + (365 * 24 * 60 * 60); var expiration = new Date(); expiration.setTime(expiration.getTime() + (365 * 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000)); var expires = "expires=" + expiration.toUTCString(); var sameSite = "SameSite=None"; var secure = ";Secure"; document.cookie = cookieName + "=" + value + ";" + maxAge + ";path=/;" + sameSite + secure; } function readCookie() { var cookies = document.cookie.split(';'); var value = ""; for (var i = 0; i < cookies.length; i++) { var cookie = cookies[i].trim(); if (cookie.indexOf(cookieName) == 0) { value = cookie.substring(cookieName.length + 1, cookie.length); break; } } if (value !== "") { alert("Cookie value : " + value); } } And iOS code: currentAuthorizationFlow = OIDAuthState.authState(byPresenting: request, presenting: viewController) { authState, error in if let authState = authState { print("Authorization succeed") self.authState = authState if let accessToken = authState.lastTokenResponse?.accessToken, let idToken = authState.lastTokenResponse?.idToken { completion(.success(TokenResponse(accessToken: accessToken, idToken: idToken))) return } } self.authState = nil completion(.failure(error)) }

Hey folks, Having some trouble getting Animations to behave properly. I'll try to explain what I am doing, but maybe it is easier to run the project, which you can clone from github here. The key is in commenting out line 32/33 and uncommenting lines 34/35 in GaugeView.swift Otherwise: here is the high-level goal I'm aiming for: I'd like to see a horizontal gauge, akin to a tape measure (ignore the colors in this example image ), but (initially) centered on zero, and extending both to negative and positive measures. It will represent some value and that value can go up to a positive maximum number, and a minimum negative number. On overflow on either side, the tape measure should wrap-around. For this, I would like to create the illusion of an infinite tape measure, that keeps moving as the values change. There will be NO user interaction at all, the values are coming in from some device, and simply need to be displayed. Now, the basic logic seems to work: There is a tapemeasure view, which shows zero in the center. As a new value comes in, the view's offset gets animated to have the new value be in the center. At the end of the animation. The view's offset is reset to zero (without animation), and the view's content is updated to reflect the new center value. In the current project there is only a single view, but the idea it that to the left and right of the visible view, there will be two other views to fill in the other parts. However, that is not relevant at the moment. To support changes mid-animation, I've implemented a basic custom animation myself. This one allows me to measure how often animate<>(:::) gets called for now, but will be needed to make sure animations remain smooth when merging them. The issue I run into is that that view with the actual contant contains a ForEach. And because of that, animate<>(:::) seems to be called many more times than I would expect. That number seems to be linearly related to the number of items in the ForEach. So I watched the WWDC session on view identy (Demystify SwiftUI), watched all animation-related sessions and tried to find some documatation on animations. Couldn't find what I was looking for. When I replace the content view with a Rectangle(), the issue disappears. So my question is: how to prevent a subview's changes to call animate(:::) so many times when a ForEach is present? Or maybe just block all internal animations of a subview? In essence I never need the content of the subview to be animated, only it's offset in the superview.
